Conflict Assistance

This is where neighbors in conflict can get assistance in working things out. As one of our programs that directly address quality of life issues, we provide a conflict professional to help the parties look at the situation, and work toward what would make it better.

Car Window and Tire Replacement Program

If your car window or tire has been damaged by crime, funding is available to qualified individuals to help with the cost of replacement.

Who can apply:

  • Household income must be within qualified amount (please call for details)

  • The incident must have occurred in the City of Barre, Vermont

  • You need to have a valid driver’s license

  • You will be asked to supply a copy of the declaration page from your local auto insurance policy

How to apply for compensation:

  1. Report the crime to Barre City Police Dept. (802-476-6613)

  2. Make sure to get a filled out Window/Tire Damage Incident card from the responding officer

  3. Contact the Barre Community Justice Center at (802-476-0276)

  4. The Barre Community Justice Center will meet with you and gather information from you to determine your eligibility and help you with the process


 

Trainings

Conflict management, communication skills, restorative justice, the BCJC delivers trainings to groups who are interested in learning more about these areas. In addition to the above, the BCJC conducts ongoing volunteer trainings for new volunteers.
